Who is MABÓ?

MABÓ comes from the first names of the two founders: MArius Beju & BOgdan Georgescu.

For us, quality always comes first.

We started this extraordinary journey with one thought in mind: to choose and offer you the best quality coffee.
We carefully select batches that confirm specialty coffee standards, which means that only mature cherries are picked by hand and that the batches can be easily traced from the origin to you in the cup.

Bogdan Georgescu is the Romanian National Roasting Champion and the World Roasting Vice-Champion.
He is responsible for developing the roasting profiles to reveal the unique flavors and notes of each green coffee that captures his attention.
He is a perfectionist, that's why he tests each batch of coffee with several roasting profiles for a consistency of quality. Then cupping to identify and highlight the notes developed. And yes, he drinks a lot of coffee.

We are always looking to offer you all the details for the complete traceability of each batch of coffee. We tell you exactly about the origin of the coffee and the producer - farm, cooperative or processing station, about the harvest period, so that you can be sure that you bought an excellent coffee.

When we created MABÓ, we thought about the customers who would become part of the community and imagined how each personality would find the right coffee in our selection. That's why the MABÓ character or MABÓ man, found on every coffee package and in our branding, is the connection of all the personalities, styles, moods, and visions of each one, this multifaceted brown character that delights every part of us.
The character took shape with the help of the illustrator Andreea Drobotă (a.k.a Ilustăria - @ilustaria) and perfectly outlines the MABÓ character, that is, you with all your moods, with all the traits that make you as authentic as the coffee you choose to drink.

If you look at the coffee packs from the front, you'll see that they have half of the character visible, and it completes the identity of the MABÓ character when you join another pack in the correct position. Today you can be Ethiopia, and tomorrow you can be Colombia, because the origin is also chosen emotionally, according to desires and mood. Each of us is a story in progress and improvement, which also applies to MABÓ, a branding play that we hope to see in as many of our community as possible.
